One last trip to End of the World at Sand Mountain before loading up. This may be a good place to be on 12/21/12!

Top of Sand Mountain with the Teryx4

Swapped to paddle tires on the Kawasaki Teryx4. Does surprisingly well with the proper tires! I put it in low gear and moto'd to the top. Very impressed with the low end grunt.

Race Teryx Ride at Sand Mountain

Did some fuel tuning this morning on my race Teryx. Figured I'd take it for a dune ride with the rest of the crew. Fun times!

Desert Ride to Middlegate

We took the long way to Middlegate from Sand Mountain. First stop was at the Shoal Nuclear bomb site. The over to the Fairview Peak Earthquake Fault. Then down to Middlegate. Taking the short way back to the sand. Did about 60 miles to here and about 20-25 miles along highway 50 back.

Great Weather at Sand Mointain

Arrived at Sand Mountain yesterday and the place is pretty empty. We all quickly unload and went for a nice ride. Temps were in the mid 50's which is super nice for late December.

We are all going on a desert ride today to Middlegate for lunch. Hope to find the Shoal atomic bomb site and Fairview earthquake fault on the way there.

Teryx4 Windshield

Going to do some riding in chilly temps after Christmas. Picked up this half windshield from Kawasaki for our Teryx 4 to help break some of the wind.

Rock Crawling with the Kawasaki Teryx4

Super impresses with how the Teryx4 rock crawls. Centrifugal clutch is amazing. Really like the new locker engagement and power steering is incredible. More pictures to follow!

Testing at Prairie City SVRA

Brought the new Teryx4 and out race Teryx to Prairie City for a little testing today. Should be fun!

Picked up our Kawasaki Teryx4 Today!

Mike's Cycle up in Placerville, CA called me this morning with great news, my 2012 Teryx4 had been delivered! I hooked up the trailer and picked it right up.  Once home, I went right to work swapping tires to the 28"x15" tires and wheels from Colorado Components.

The tires are 28" EFX MotoMTC Tires on 15" M15 Crusher Wheels. This combo measures out actually at almost 29" tall and on the Teryx4, they just rub a little bit up front at full turn.  Not sure how they will do with shocks compressed, but I'll have to wait until after Christmas for our first trip with it to find out.

Our Teryx4 Buildup will focus on trail capability and be more of an expedition type rig.  We will be keeping the camo, and everything else will be black. Next up in the build will be UHMW skid plates from Factory UTV. I'll be dropping the Teryx4 off at their shop on Monday so they can design the skids.

New rubber for our Teryx4 build

A set of new tires and wheels showed today up for our 2012 Kawasaki Teryx4 build project. These wheels are 15" and the tires are 28".  Should do nicely on the Teryx4.

Here is what I got ordered from Colorado Components:
Our Teryx4 should arrive any day now, and we cannot wait to get rolling on this project.

Cleaning the pasture with our Gator

It has been a super windy December in northern California and the downed branches in the pasture show it. Our John Deere Gator 825i comes in real handy for this. Load it up and run over to the next pile. When full, head over to the burn pile and use the automatic dump bed and it is gone. Love that feature!

TMW Off-Road Featured on Destination Polaris

Destination Polaris has done it again! This time, they partnered with TMW Off-Road to build the “Sleeper!”
TMW Off-Road, located in Mesa, AZ, took a Polaris RZR 900 XP and built one of the slickest sand machines on the market. The Project X machine comes complete with K & T Performance Turbo, Lonestar Racing suspension, Elka Shocks, TMW Intimidator roll cage and front bumper, OMF bead-lock rims and tires, plus tons of extras.

Doug Tyler of TMW Off-Road couldn’t be more thrilled with the finished product. “It's just an amazing machine, kind of our dream build to be able to take one of these RZR XPs and do what we want to it and then get to go out and play with it.”

All new episodes Destination Polaris begin airing Dec. 26. Air times are 4:30 pm, 9:30 pm and Tues. 1 am. All times Eastern.

A little chilly at the office today

Quick day trip into the Rubicon today. I took my 2011 Kawasaki Teryx and my friend Dave brought his Polaris RZR XP. Not much snow left on the trail, mostly just some icy spots.

Temperature was hovering at 35 when we left for home.

Time for new trailer tires

On the way home from Plaster City after a great day of shock work with FOX Racing Shox. Got a flat on the enclosed trailer. Should have trusted my instincts and replaced them earlier...

Down at Plaster City with FOX doing some shock tuning on our race Teryx.

Justin from Cognito just showed up to do some work on the RZR 4 and RZR XP too.
